Alternatives for Your Sweet Tooth

Standard

One of my struggles is I have a bad sweet tooth! I love brownies, pies, etc.  However, these foods are packed with tons of sugar and calories. It’s okay to have them every now and then in moderation but do not over do it! Sweets can sneak up on you and you will look around and your favorite pair of jeans won’t fit. I have come up with a list of healthy alternatives to satisfy your sweet  tooth!

Instead of ice cream or a milk shake try a smoothie or a pure fruit sorbet.

If you are craving pie, have a baked fruit crisp with an oatmeal topping or a baked apple with cinnamon and honey.

Dark chocolate is the best to eat if you are going to have chocolate. It provides several health benefits. It’s full of antioxidants, boosts the immune system, lowers cholesterol, and aids in preventing heart issues. Try dark chocolate covered strawberries or cranberries.

A delicious fruit salad is another way to satisfy  your sweet tooth.

If you love cupcakes like me! Have a low-calorie muffin instead. They are the same consistency of a cupcake but are healthier.

Opt for oatmeal cookies instead of sugar, peanut butter etc. Oatmeal provides fiber, and is filled with vitamins and minerals.
