The Dangers of Gluten



I am sure everyone has heard the term gluten free. What is gluten you ask? Gluten is the protein found in wheat  that helps the food maintain its shape. In essence it’s the glue that holds everything together. There are several sources of gluten including rye, barley,and yeast.  Gluten can be found in breads, soups, cereals, chips, cookies etc. Gluten can have many dangerous effects. Many people suffer from a gluten allergy and as a result have to live by a gluten free diet. Here are some signs to look for that could mean you have a gluten allergy.

  • Experiencing migraines after  eating foods that contain gluten.
  • Inflammation and swollen joints after eating foods that contain gluten
  • Dizziness and poor balance
  • Fatigue
  • Mood swings
  • Irregular menstrual cycles can also be a result of gluten intolerance
  • Irritable Bowel syndrome can come from consumption of food containing gluten
  • Bloating, gas, diarrhea
  • Rashes,hives
  • Exhaustion
